Top 10 Finalists: Patron’s Perfectionist Cocktail Competition

The Australian edition of the Patron Perfectionist Cocktail Competition is set to be held next Tuesday, 18 October at The Island in Sydney. Over the last few weeks, the brand has been working its way through over 115 entries to select the top ten finalists who will compete for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Hacienda Patrón in Mexico.

The finalists include:

  • Mitchell Gurrin from The Dominion League, WA with ‘Fifty Shades of Clay’

  • Nicholas Cozens from Eau De Vie, VIC with ‘Song of the Sea’

  • Nicholas David Anile from Long Chim Perth, WA with ‘Wild Himalayan’

  • Sarah Dawn Mitchell from Boilermaker House, VIC with ‘El Claridad’

  • Kurtis Bosley from Bar Moncur, NSW with ‘La Smoka Rosa’

  • Hannah Bolt from The Statler and Waldorf, QLD with ‘Split Pearsonality’

  • Ella Rhodes from The Gresham, QLD with ‘Frida’

  • Alexander Boon from Brooklyn Standard/Maker, QLD with ‘The Hacienda Cup’

  • Alexander Gilmour form Tio’s Cerveceria, NSW with ‘Don’t Take Me Lightly Senorita!’

  • Alexander Archibald from Seamstress, VIC with ‘Sage Advice’


National Training Manager at SouthTrade, Gee David, said that the quality of entrants’ cocktails had been high.

“There was an incredibly high standard of drinks entered with a huge range of styles and flavours, displaying just how versatile Patron Tequila is and how much talent there is throughout the cocktail bars of Australia. Competitors embraced the challenge and the levels of creativity of the cocktails [are] some of the highest I have ever witnessed.”

These bartenders will now go on to present their cocktails before a panel of experts including Global Chief Marketing Officer of Patrón, Lee Applbaum.
