Ponting Wines has released the 2019 366 Shiraz Cabernet following as well as a brand new wine to their lineup with the Milestone 257 Pinot Noir.

The 2019 McLaren Vale/Coonawarra Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon wears Ponting’s Test player number ,366, with the same pride as the Australian captain and its release follows the success of the 2018 vintage which scored which took home a Platinum Medal and scored 97pts at the 2022 Decanter World Wine Awards.

The new 2021 Milestone 257 Pinot Noir marks Ricky Ponting’s milestone innings of 257 vs India at the Melbourne Cricket Grounds in the 2003 Boxing Day Test.

Ponting Wines is a collaboration between Ricky Ponting and award-winning Australian winemaker, Ben Riggs. The wines are distributed on mainland Australia by Saint Wine and in Tasmania by David Johnstone & Associates.

Co-founder of Ponting Wines, David Krenich, said the distribution partnerships will focus on building a strong on-premise presence for the wines.

“Our goal with these partnerships is to establish the Ponting Wine brand nationally and build strong on-premise distribution in the process. We have had incredible interest through the Ponting Wines website over recent years and the distribution partnerships give the brand a chance to grow through a wider channel mix.

“We can’t underestimate the importance of getting consumers trying the wines in venues and understanding that Ponting Wines are producing outstanding product.”

Krenich said Ponting Wines will also further attention on developing export market opportunities, particularly in India and the UK.

“Ben Riggs is producing exceptional wine and it is timely to expand our footprint nationally, as well as look at international markets,” said Ponting Wines Co-founder Ricky Ponting.

“I have had the privilege of playing cricket across Australia and all over the world – raising a glass with teammates at the close of play, when the game was done and the crowd was gone, they were special moments.

“I look forward to seeing wine lovers across Australia and, in time, across key international markets, raising a glass of Ponting Wines to celebrate their own achievements and special moments.”
