Continuing the family tradition, The Calabria Family Wine Group welcomes its first fourth-generation family member to the business.

Joining the marketing team, Sophie Calabria is General Manager Michael Calabria’s daughter and current Marketing and Communications student at the University of South Australia.

“I’m excited to work with Dad and the rest of the family at the winery. There is so much happening across all areas of the business, and I’m most keen to put my marketing training to work to help be part of the growth taking place in Australia and around the world for Calabria Family Wines,” said Sophie.

Established 75 years ago, Calabria Family Wine Group’s Managing Director and proud grandfather, Bill Calabria AM, said the hard work, determination and a shared family vision are what makes Calabria Family Wines a top 20 wine producer.

“As a family-owned business, we are proud to have been producing award-winning wines for over 75 years. We believe our success is due to our never-ending commitment to quality, sustainability, and family values. With Sophie joining our team, we are excited to continue this legacy and to pass on our passion to the next generation,” said Bill.

With a rich heritage and strong Italian traditions, what started as a backyard operation in 1945 now encompasses multiple vineyards in the family’s longtime home of Griffith, in the heart of Riverina winegrowing country.

More recently, a restaurant and cellar door was established in the renowned Barossa Valley, adding to the family’s growing portfolio. Calabria Family Wines are sold across Australia and in 36 countries worldwide.
