Marking 20 years of award-winning sparkling winemaking at House of Arras in Tasmania, Chief Winemaker Ed Carr is releasing a 1998 late disgorged sparkling from his cellars.
The 1998 House of Arras 20th Anniversary Late Disgorged, after a staggering 16 years on lees, is set to be one of Australia’s greatest ever sparkling wines when it is released by distributor, Accolade Wines this month.
The new release is also the original late disgorged – the first ever produced by Australia’s most awarded sparkling winemaker 17 years ago. Preserving the quality of this wine and Ed’s craftsmanship, only 300 bottles have been produced, making the 1998 release the most exclusive sparkling wine in Australia’s history.
Ed’s tireless work has led House of Arras to be considered the best of the best and the leader of the Australian sparkling wine awakening.

The wine is made of 62 per cent chardonnay and 38 per cent pinot noir from the Tamar Estuary, Lower Derwent and Coal River Valley, and will retail for $350.
