Championing the motto “time changes, Ardbeg remains”, the iconic Islay Malt Whisky recently celebrated it’s 200th Anniversary timed with the occurrence of the annual ‘Ardbeg Day’ festivity and the launch of a new limited edition expression, Ardbeg Perpetuum.

While a number of the brand’s previous special releases have been about celebrating a rich and heritage-driven past, Ardbeg Perpetuum is aimed at a the distillery’s continuance and the future of what is to come.

“Ardbeg Perpetuum celebrates this milestone year with a recipe that includes some very old and young Ardbeg, silky Ardbeg from bourbon barrels and some spicy Ardbeg from sherry casks… and some surprises which hint at the future.” Says Dr. Bill Lumsden, Ardbeg’s Director of Distilling and Whisky Creation:

“The resulting expression combines classic notes of dark chocolate and treacle with sea-spray, peat smoke, vanilla and a hint of sherry casks, to create an unforgettable single malt with an aftertaste that is never-ending.”

Keeping in line with Ardbeg’s character, the expression is non-chill filtered and bottled at an ABV of 47.4% and features the unmistakable hallmarks of peaty smokiness.

Ardbeg Perpetuum retails at $169.00 and will be available globally on 30th May 2015 from the Moët Hennessy Collection (moethennessy-collection.com.au), and locally at whisky specialists around the country.

Ardbeg is distributed by Moët Hennessy Australia.
