Asahi vodka brands are celebrating taking out Silver at the recent International Wine and Spirit (IWSC) Awards 2019.
Asahi Premium Beverages acquired the Vodka O and VDKA 6100 brands in 2017.
Proudly Australian, Vodka O is a triple distilled whey-based vodka that is charcoal filtered for a cleaner, smoother taste. It is a full-strength bottled spirit served best chilled over ice or enjoyed in cocktails and is made from fresh New Zealand ‘seasonal’ cows whey which delivers lower levels of methanol for a smooth finish.
Vodka O is three-times distilled and four-times filtered (twice through activated carbon) to make it one of the most impurity-free vodkas on the market with a dry finish and limited traces of ‘spirit’ heat.
Virginia Woodger, Group Marketing Manager Cider, RTDs, Spirits and Sponsorships at Asahi Premium Beverages said: “We are so excited for Vodka O to be recognised with a silver award, it is a dynamic brand in the Asahi Premium Beverages portfolio and this win proves its position as a favourite Australian-made vodka on the market.”
VDKA 6100 is a unique vodka that was conceived in New York with co-founder Robert De Niro and is made with ‘seasonal’ New Zealand cows whey in Reporoa (North Island, NZ). The whey is fermented with hand cultivated yeast which has been crafted for over 30 years and the result is a sophisticated, pure and smooth vodka with notes of citrus fruits, a refreshing mineral core and hints of caramel to finish.
VDKA 6100's smoothness and silkiness is the result of being triple distilled and blended with pristine New Zealand spring water for unparalleled purity and luxury, crafted for the world’s best cocktail bars.
“VDKA 6100 is one of the purest vodkas on the market, and we are so proud to add the IWSC Award to the collection celebrating it as one of the world’s ultra-premium spirits,” Woodger added.
The IWSC wins for Asahi vodka joins VDKA 6100’s recent Five-Diamond Award 2019 from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences. The International Star Diamond Award is the most prestigious emblem of achievement within the luxury sector of the hospitality industry.
Woodger added: “The IWSC name and medal is internationally recognised by trade and consumers so we are thrilled that two of our vodka brands have been celebrated among such high calibre competition.”
