Bacardí Legacy announced its national finalists, dubbed the Three Most Promising, at the Semi-Final cocktail party held at Deus Bar + Kitchen in Sydney last night. Dave Kerr from The Beaufort & Ike’s in Victoria, Joshua O’Brien from The Bowery in Queensland and Ryan Snedden from The Lobo Plantation in New South Wales have triumphed through the initial entries, Top 50 tasting tour and the Top 8 Semi-Final competition.

The Bacardí Legacy Global Cocktail Competition was established to challenge the best bartenders internationally to create a cocktail that will stand the test of time as a Legacy, alongside drinks such as the Daiquiri and Mojito.

The Three Most Promising will now begin their individual Legacy cocktail campaigns, partnering with Bacardí who will provide them with a $1,500 budget and mentored by Bacardi brand ambassadors, Loy Catada, Sean Forsyth and Andy Wren.

Of the finalists’ journeys ahead, Catada, said, “The time has come for these aspiring bartenders to promote their cocktail and forge their place in the Australian cocktail industry.”

The Bacardí Legacy National Final will be held on February 7 2017, where a winner will be chosen based on their campaign’s success. The winner will then go on to represent Australia at the Bacardí Legacy Global Cocktail Competiton Final, to be held in May 2017 in Berlin, Germany.
