Celebrating the Italian ritual of aperitivo, Campari has re-launched their iconic Campari bottle with a design that pays homage to its hometown of Milan.

An international centre of fashion and design, Milan is also the birthplace of Campari, a family business that started operations way back in 1860 by Gaspare Campari.

A style icon in its own right, Campari is an international crowd-pleaser that is the base for many famous cocktails and the original spritz.

The new bottle reflects the elegant, minimalist fashion and contemporary design that Mian is famous for, a visual homage to the city's duality. A metropoulos that is at once modern and historical, classical and pioneering, entrepreneurial and fun-loving.

To launch the sleek new design, Campari staged a theatrical drone show at the famous Piazza Duomo in Milan's central historic district on May 5.

Julka Villa, Global Head of Marketing at Campari, said the launch was the largest drone show ever performed in Europe, lighting up the city skyline at Sempione Park for a 12-minute extravaganza.

"With this event and the presentation of the new Campari bottle, we wanted to pay homage to Milano, its resourcefulness and its excitement, traits that deeply bind it to the spirit of our brand.

"Not only seeing the sky of Milano lit up in red through an incredible spectacle but also with a concrete contribution by investing in a cultural project that will further enrich this city to support the art of filmmaking, something that has always been part of Campari's soul," she said.

A special cocktail list will be available at the brand's iconic Camparino in Galleria to celebrate the launch. Overlooking Milan's most famous landmark, Piazza Duomo, the bar established by Davide Campari, Gaspare's son, in 1915, has been a Milanese stalwart ever since.
