Dan Murphy’s has been awarded the top prize available to liquor in the 2023 Roy Morgan Customer Satisfaction Awards, leading out its competitors in every month to be recognised as Liquor Store of the Year for the second year in a row.
“To receive this award for the second year in a row is a testament to the hard work and dedication of all our team members, who always put customers first in everything they do,” said Agi Pfeiffer-Smith, Managing Director of Dan Murphy’s.
One of the initiatives that has helped to cultivate Dan Murphy's strong customer relationships is its ongoing My Dan’s membership program.
“My Dan’s has more than five million active members with a scan rate of more than 80%, which demonstrates the incredible engagement we have with our customer base, and our unwavering commitment to meeting their needs,” said Pfeiffer-Smith.
On top of being named as Liquor Store of the Year, Dan Murphy’s was also awarded third place in the Best of the Best section, which compares the public satisfaction rating of each of the 38 category winners. Dan Murphy’s had a customer satisfaction rating of 96.1% throughout 2023 and was the leading Australian liquor store for every month of the year. The retailer placed in third overall behind Aussie Broadband, which had a satisfaction rate of 97.5%, and Skoda, which had a rate of 97.1%.
The Roy Morgan Annual Customer Satisfaction Awards cover more than 280 of Australia’s most well-known companies across 38 categories.
“While our hard-working team at Roy Morgan collect and collate the data on a continuous basis throughout the year, the 'judging panel' is truly comprised of the customers of the 280 companies – many thousands of them – giving their honest, unvarnished opinions to an independent and trusted research company… this is the key factor that makes these awards so meaningful and highly valued,” said Roy Morgan’s CEO Michele Levine.
More than 60,000 respondents contributed to the 2024 awards via Roy Morgan's Single Source survey.
“We ask respondents to tell us which companies they deal with in different categories and then to rate how satisfied they are with each. Each month we calculate monthly Customer Satisfaction winners in each of the categories as the year unfolds, and the annual award goes to the company with the most monthly wins.
“This massive study provides an accurate, independent and objective measure of how people feel about the companies they give their business to.”
