In under a year since opening, Teeling Whiskey Company’s new Visitor Centre in Dublin City is being celebrated as the Visitor Attraction of the Year.

The centre, which has welcomed over 30,000 visitors since June last year, received the title from Whisky Magazine’s Icons of Whisky Rest of World Awards. The awards are judged by the magazine’s independent editorial panel of judges and were established to celebrate the people and places behind great whiskies.

Teeling Whiskey Co. is an independent Irish whiskey producer and produces a broad range of whiskeys, from small batch, single grain and single malts, as well as its famous The Revival, which are distributed by SouthTrade International in Australia.

In 2015, the Teeling Whiskey Distillery became the first operational distillery in the capital of Ireland in 125 years. The new distillery was opened to meet growing demand, following a recent revival of the category. Today, the distillery offers daily tours of its whiskey production on site, from barley to milling to fermentation right up to three custom made copper pot stills.

“We are honoured to have won the award for Visitor Attraction of the Year. This is a fantastic achievement for us and is testament to the unique distillery experience we offer our visitors to Dublin”, founder of Teeling Whiskey Co., Jack Teeling said.

The company will now compete for the global title of Visitor Attraction of the Year against other regional whisky producers. The Whisky Magazine will announce the results on 17 March – St Patrick’s Day.
