Loire Sparkling Wines Masterclass
Last Friday, Sydney’s wine trade was invited to a Masterclass looking into the sparkling wines of the Loire Valley, France.
Hosted by WA wine writer Cassandra Charlick, the event dived into the diversity and the uniqueness of the sparkling wines from the region, which is France’s largest region for sparkling wine outside of Champagne.
The masterclass was centred around eight Loire Valley sparkling wines, including four sparkling rosés, which collectively revealed the diversity of style, price, grape variety and complexity that can be found in the region.
The Loire Sparkling Wines Masterclass trade tasting formed part of Vins de Loire and Taste France’s Sydney Good Food and Wine Show at the International Convention Centre, Sydney. In addition to the trade masterclass, Vins de Loire and Charlick also put on a further five masterclasses aimed to highlight different examples of Loire Valley wines.
