Rugby Australia and the Wallabies have partnered with Stone and Wood's Green Coast Lager ahead of the start of the 2021 international season. It takes the Byron Bay brewery, founded on the vision of "creating a conscious local business", to a whole new level and consumer base. Their Green Coast Lager will be available at Wallabies Tests across Australia this season.

Co-founder Ross Jurisich (pictured below) sees the partnership more as an extension of that community spirit, so fundamental to the brewery, just on a broader scale.

"The value is in partnering with a community orientated sport at a national level. The Wallabies are our national team and it gives us the opportunity to showcase Green Coast to an audience that may not have heard about us before.

"We’re continually talking with sporting groups, music promoters and arts events across Australia, however the Wallabies partnership was just good timing for both of us. The feedback has been great and we really appreciate the opportunity to get behind our national team."

The brewery is better known for creating the Summer Ale category in beer with Pacific Ale than brewing an easy drinking lager. However, Green Coast has been in the portfolio since the doors to the brewery opened in 2008.

Rugby Australia Chief Executive Officer Andy Marinos said: “We’re delighted to welcome Stone and Wood’s Green Coast Lager to the Rugby family. Stone and Wood are passionate about quality, community and giving back, and the Australian Rugby community share those common values.

“Australian Rugby is entering a very exciting period, kicking off with the eToro France Series next month before blockbusters against New Zealand, South Africa and Argentina on home soil,” Marinos said.

Since launching in 2008 in the Northern Rivers of NSW, Stone & Wood has established itself as one of Australia’s favourite breweries.

Green Coast Lager will be available for the Wallabies eToro Series against France, kicking off on Wednesday 7 July at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Tickets are available at wallabies.
