Tamdhu's new whisky of distinction
Ian McLeod Distillers' Global Malts Amabassador, Gordon Dundas, visited Sydney in July for a Single Malt Scotch Whisky tasting at Burrow Bar underground on Clarence Street.
Hosted by Swift + Moore's General Manager, Cameron Crowley, Mr Dundas shared the latest release from Tamdhu - Speyside: Distinction and the bottles of Glengoyne flowed from the bar.
The Distinction "begins its journey in the oak forests of North America, before being imported into Spain where these casks are carefully crafted in the 'sherry triangle' over six years". Seasoned with Olorosso sherry seasoning and then finished in American Oak sherry cask.
The Tamdhu Distinction retails for $130 and its 18 year old sibling for around $250.
Our pick was the Glengoyne Cask Strength at 56 per cent ABV, retailing for around $150.
Swift + Moore also distribute Smokehead Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky: Original, High Voltage and Sherry Bomb.
