Tia Maria celebrates International Coffee Day
Monday saw the launch of Sydney’s first dedicated coffee cocktail masterclass, hosted by Tia Maria at underground speakeasy Eau De Vie in Darlinghurst.
The hidden bar is known for it’s cocktail connoisseur bartenders, one of which is Danilo Migliorini, Tia Maria’s brand ambassador, who taught the group how to shake and stir cocktails such as the Twisted Tia, the crowd favourite, espresso martini and Eau De Vie’s famous Espresso Zabaione.
Tia Maria partnered with Schibello Coffee, using their cold press brew in each cocktail.
Guests were also treated to a dessert pairing with each cocktail.
Among the guests were actors Richard O’Bryan and Ben Mingay, singing duo Jess and Matt, and socialites Christopher Haggarty, Warren Pasi and Chris Koikas to name a few.
It’s no secret that Australians love their coffee cocktails, with Queenslanders demanding the most espresso martinis on an average night out, drinking 43% of Australia’s total consumption of the cocktail, followed by NSW (22%), SA (13%) and VIC (13%).
First invented in 1980 by Dick Bradsell, Tia Maria was actually the original coffee liquor included in the Espresso Martini.
