James Squire expands its range with the release of Stride, their first low-carb pale ale, with only 3.6 grams of carbohydrates per bottle.

A heritage brand founded by Australia’s first brewer, James Squire, back in 1806, this new release marks a deviation for the brand as they identified a gap in the low-carb beer market.

Albertus Lombard, Brand Director – Premium at Lion Australia, James Squires’ owners, said entering the low-carb beer space was an exciting opportunity for the brand.

“Stride has been carefully crafted by our brewers to deliver a low carb pale ale that has all the flavour of a pale ale that you’d expect from James Squire. We know that there’s limited low-carb beer options on the market in Australia, and with James Squire’s innovation credentials, it was a no brainer for us to launch into this space.

According to trend analysis figures released by US-based Hexa Research, the popularity of low-carb beer continues to rise globally, howeverperceptions of a lack of flavour and quality continue to circulate.

“James Squire Stride gives beer drinkers the option to drink a low-carb beer that packs a punch in flavour that craft beers are known for, without compromising on quality and taste,” said Lombard.

Made from Australian Pale and Munich Malts, James Squire Stride is a refreshing low-carb Pale Ale with a dash of wheat, tangerine, and tropical stone fruit notes form the aroma and top notes while Mosaic and Galaxy hops deliver hints of passionfruit and citrus.

James Squire Stride has an ABV of 4.2 per cent and will be available to purchase in 330ml bottles at liquor stores and at James Squire brewhouses for $54.99 per case and $20.99 per six pack.
