To celebrate XXXXs partnership with the Queensland Maroons for the State of Origin series, the brewery has released retro-inspired, limited-edition postcode cans.
Designed to demonstrate state pride, the GOLD Pride in Your Origins cans all feature numbers from 0-9, which can be arranged to create one of Queensland’s 447 postcodes.
Chris Allan, Lion Head of Marketing – Core Beer, said the nostalgic design is about honouring XXXXs 145-year history supporting Queenslanders and their deep commitment to Rugby League and the State of Origin.
“Our Pride In Your Origin cans are a way of enabling all consumers to celebrate the towns and communities that they are a part of. It allows all footy fans to showcase their community pride when they come together in living rooms, footy clubhouses and local pubs to support the Maroons in the annual battle for state pride,” he said.
“Growing up in Brisbane, it was my dream to represent my state in the Maroon jersey. When I step out onto the field, I’m stepping out for everyone from my hometown of Holland Park (4121) and for our loyal Queensland supporters. The new XXXX cans are a great way for Queenslanders to share our pride,” said Patrick Carrigan, Queensland Maroons lock.
Anthony Ireland-Jones, General Manager – Commercial and Consumer Engagement at QRL, said he’s looking forward to seeing Queenslanders share their postcode pride with the XXXX collectable cans as they watch the competition this year.
“The Maroons are extremely proud of the communities that helped get them to where they are now,” he said.
The new release comes with the opportunity for footy fans to win plenty of prizes through the XXXX website, including a trip to Hamilton Island for four people with selected Queensland Maroons players and representatives.
