Little Creatures has launched its new winter seasonal, Coconut Banger, a milk stout combining malts, vanilla, cocoa bean and shredded coconut.
Russ Gosling, head brewer at Little Creatures Fremantle, said people are increasingly seeking out new and innovative beers that make the time we’re spending at home more of an occasion.
“We wanted to brew a beer this year that’s perfect to enjoy on the couch over the winter months, but with a flavour profile reminiscent of a holiday to your favourite destination,” he said.
The Little Creatures brewers have used lactose in the brew, along with vanilla and rolled oats to create a silky-smooth mouthfeel that complements the notes from the shredded coconut and cocoa.
“Coconut Banger is a stout at its core with exotic components that work in perfect harmony to create a modern take on an older style of beer,” Gosling added.
The recommended retail price of Little Creatures Coconut Banger is $25 per six-pack and it has a 5.6% ABV.
Coconut Banger is available nationally.
Earlier this year, Coopers Brewery revealed one of its oldest beers, Coopers Best Extra Stout, was enjoying a resurgence among Australian consumers, with sales at their highest level in almost half a century.
Coopers Managing Director, Dr Tim Cooper, said: “It appears that as new beer styles and flavours enter the market, consumers are also keen to look at flagship beers and styles that have stood the test of time,” he said.
“Interest in stouts, dark beers and porters is increasing world-wide and we are certainly enjoying that trend.”
