Diageo has launched Smirnoff Infusions, a low-ABV (20%), low-calorie spirit-based drink designed for Australians and their love of daytime socialising.

Infused with natural botanicals, the spirit-based drink is perfect for mixing with soda. Smirnoff Infusions is available in two flavours; Cucumber Lime & Mint and Passionfruit & Lime.

It has less than 40 calories per serve and 60% less calories than a standard 150ml glass of white wine.

Diageo seeded Smirnoff Infusions at this year’s Splendour in the Grass, offering guests the opportunity to sample the new spirit in cocktails served at the exclusive Icebergs dining experience.

To celebrate the official launch this Spring, Smirnoff Infusions will partner with one of Sydney’s favourite daytime hotspots - Watsons Bay Hotel (September 18 – October 27) - where guests will be able to enjoy the new spirit in cocktails at a Smirnoff Infusions bar.

The Smirnoff Infusions bar takeover will draw inspiration from the flavour profile of the spirit infused with natural botanicals, creating a lush paradise within Watsons Bay Hotel. In addition, each Sunday, Smirnoff Infusions bar guests will be treated to a relaxing soundtrack of live music from acoustic acts.

Linda Wellington, Marketing Manager at Smirnoff, said: “Over the past two years we’ve seen an incredible demand for a lighter drink that doesn’t scrimp on flavour or taste, and it’s with our new Infusions range that we finally can give Australia what they’re looking for.

"A testament to our drive for both innovation and discovery, the lighter and more low-calorie offering is a simple way for Australians to enjoy a more interesting drink. It’s the perfect accompaniment to a balanced lifestyle or daytime occasion - we can’t wait for people to try it.”

The 700ml bottle retails for $33 and is available now at liquor stores nationwide.
