This month, Mitcher's Whiskey released the fourth edition of their famed Celebration Sour Mash for the first time since 2019.

Of only 328 bottles produced and distributed worldwide, nine of the 2022 edition will be available in Australia exclusively through Vanguard Luxury Brands.

Dan McKee, Master Distiller at Mitcher's, said he was honoured to have had the opportunity to work on the Sour Mash blend for the second time in his career.

"This edition contains whiskeys personally selected by me from seven extraordinary barrels, three of them Kentucky straight bourbon and four of them Kentucky straight rye," he said.

Sitting at 56.4 per cent, the Sour Mash contains whiskeys selected by McKee, ranging in age from 12 to over 30 years old.

First released ten years ago in 2013, the premium Sour Mash releases have been responsible for promoting American whiskey on the international stage, said Joseph J. Magliocco, President at Mitcher's.

"It's been gratifying to see how whiskeys made in the United States have garnered increased respect and recognition both at home and abroad over the past decade," said Magliocco.

Recently named the World's Most Admired American Whiskey in an international poll conducted by UK-based Drinks International, Mitcher's 'Cost Be Damned' approach to production seems to be paying off.
