It was with much sadness that The Drinks Association board farewelled outgoing Executive Director Neil Grant at its most recent meeting.

Grant has been one of the backbones of the board for a decade, since joining in March 2008.

Grant has more than 35 years experience in the drinks industry and has held a variety of senior management sales and marketing roles in both local and overseas markets. He has proudly led generational changes in the liquor industry.  Grant joined Southcorp Wines in 1985 as a sales representative and worked his way to Sales Director in 2001, before being recruited by Foster’s Group in 2004. In 2008 he was appointed General Manager of Trade Relations at Foster’s Group, a position he held until he joined TWE as General Manager for ANZ Trade Relations in 2011.

“Neil’s support and assistance have been invaluable during my time at The Drinks Association,” said CEO Georgia Lennon. “He embodies the commitment and spirit that defines our industry, one that’s based on mutual respect and celebrates shared success.

“The board would like to extend a huge thank you to him for all his hard work over the years.”

Following Grant’s departure, TWE’s Sarah Parkes has joined the board of The Drinks Association as a Director. Parkes is Director – Independents & Field Sales at TWE, a position she has held since September 2017.

“I’m excited to be joining the Drinks Association board and playing a part in strengthening the Australian drinks industry,” Parkes said.

“It is an exciting industry to be a part of and I am passionate about ensuring it continues to be a rewarding industry for all stakeholders.”
