Mario Volpe is the new Managing Director, Hotels for the Endeavour Group, promoted from his current position of Head of Commercial for ALH Hotels after Bruce Mathieson Jnr's departure from the role last October.

Endeavour Group CEO, Steve Donohue said, "Mario has developed a deep understanding of the ALH business through a broad range of operational and strategic roles. He is passionate about creating great hotel experience by empowering his team to be ambitious, innovative and above all, by taking our responsibilities as hoteliers seriously. He embodies the consciousness of our 'imprint' and is committed to our purpose, values and ways of working, underpinning our most important asset - our culture."

Mr Volpe commenced his career with ALH Perth in the 1980s before relocating to Melbourne in 2000 to work in senior strategy roles at ALH and Carlton & United Breweries. Mr Volpe successfully led Coles' Hotel business from 2009 as Commercial and Operations Manager in Brisbane.

In 2016, Mr Volpe returned to ALH Melbourne where he has driven significant change and growth across the business as the Commercial Manager for ALH and helped drive ALH's digital and technology transformation agenda.

Mr Volpe said: “I feel honoured and privileged to be able to take the baton from Bruce Mathieson Jnr and lead Endeavour Group’s hotels business forward.

Our purpose is creating a more sociable future together, and we want to continue to offer great, local pubs that bring communities together, providing patrons with locally relevant and exceptional offerings.

We have a fantastic team and wonderful assets and I look forward to continuing to harness what we do really well, while innovating to meet the changing needs of our patrons.”

Mr Volpe commences in the new role this week.
