100Proof, Australia's largest independent on-premise drinks specialist, has launched Menu Maker, a new service that provides venues with a one-stop shop for all products and insights to develop specialised wine, spirit, beer, and soft drink lists.

Menu Maker is free to use and can create an entire menu in a single session with a 100Proof sales representative.

How 100Proof plans to grow the on-premise

General Manager, Duncan Baldwin, told drinks bulletin, "Menu Maker features every single product that's licensed in Australia, so we're able to pull together a complete range for venues, even if say they have a local wine merchant that they still want to include, which is in addition to our core range.

"We're also able to deliver the range within a very quick turnaround time, as well as manage any POS that needs to be sent, all within the same system."

The first version of Menu Maker is already available with over 6,000 lines loaded, and from early next year it will feature all of 100Proof's latest products for 2017.

Baldwin said that the tool is also able to provide insights into which products are selling best within an area.

"Because we are selling across all categories, we can give good insights into what's working and what isn't working, and it's fairly impartial - we're not saying that in order for us to deliver the service we need to own 70 per cent of your range. Our goal is to become good representatives of brands and service offerings, as well as provide consultancy to venues."

Menu Maker is the first of a number of services that are beginning to be rolled out by 100Proof, six months on since launching in the Australian market.

Since July, 100Proof has been developing its core range of wine, beer, and spirits and investing in technology that will make the business mobile for staff and customers and help it to deliver services faster.

In 2017, 100Proof will launch a wine book in soft and hard copy, which will provide information on its core range and will be using more of its insights to provide customers with channel-specific solutions.

Growth has also been good for 100Proof over the last six months, with sales of +22 per cent across all categories and the business is now servicing over 6,000 venues.

For summer, Baldwin says rosé and sparkling wine are expected to drive category sales, while chardonnay and pinot noir continue to spark interest, now both back in vogue. In beer and cider, Baldwin says that the craft trend is showing no signs of quietening and foresees growth opportunity with Asian-style beers, while vodka, rum, and gin, as well as craft continue to grow the spirits category in the on-premise.
