Wine Communicators Australia has announced the finalists for the 2016 Wine Communicator Awards. Established in 2004, the awards program is now in its fourth year, recognising outstanding contribution to, and excellence in, wine communication in all its forms.
Ten wine industry professionals have been selected to judge entries to six of the awards categories, while the New Writer of the Year Award will be independently judged by Gourmet Traveller WINE editor Judy Sarris, contributing editor Huon Hooke and WCA Deputy Chair Angie Bradbury.
Of this year’s talent pool, WCA Chairman Angus Barnes said "we are thrilled with the diversity and calibre of the entries this year. We received more than 50 entries across all seven categories and the feedback from the judges has been tremendous.”

The overall Wine Communicator of the Year will be chosen from the individual category winners, with previous successors including Tyson Steltzer, Jeni Port, Huon Hooke, Jane Ferrari, James Halliday and Campbell Mattison.
This year’s winners will be announced at the awards gala event at the Four Seasons, Sydney on Tuesday, November 8th.
