It has been decided the Len Evans Tutorial will not go ahead in 2020 due to uncertainty around interstate travel.

The Tutorial was founded by Len Evans AO OBE in 2001. It is run by a not-for-profit foundation and is funded entirely by donations and sponsorships from companies and individuals related to the wine industry. All tutors and pourers volunteer their time each year to run the Tutorial.

Applicants who have submitted for 2020 will not need to reapply for 2021, but will have the opportunity to update their proposals or CVs.

The 2021 Len Evans Tutorial will celebrate 20 years when applications opening in June 2021.

Over its 20 years, the Len Evans Tutorial has proved to be an invaluable training ground for its scholars many of whom have gone on to become wine show chairs and senior wine judges, industry leaders and better wine professionals.

Director Sally Evans said: “Thank you to all past supporters and we look forward to progressing our association next year. Dad would have been 90 come August 31, so perhaps we can all raise a glass to him that day in recognition?”

Past alumni groups are planning reunions this year and will recognise Len’s 90th by opening a great bottle on August 31, 2020.
