Two Birds Brewing is gearing up to celebrate its fifth birthday on 13 June and to just that, it will be giving select venues nationally the opportunity to sell two of its beers for $5. The brewery has also made two beers specially for the occasion, giving consumers a taste of co-owners Jayne Lewis and Danielle Allan favourite drinks.

Two Birds was set up by Jayne and Danielle in 2011 in Melbourne, becoming then Australia's first female owned and operated brewery. Over the last five years, Two Birds has won numerous accolades on the beer show circuit, including Champion Medium Australian Brewer at the recent Australian International Beer Awards.

Golden Ale and Sunset Ale - the brewery's flagship beers - will be available for just $5 per schooner for the duration of Two Birds' birthday week. "We wanted to mark the occasion by giving something back to the people that have supported us over the past five years," Danielle said.

Danielle’s PX Belgian Dubbel is inspired by Pedro Ximenez - an intensely sweet, dark, dessert sherry, described as “Raisin Port”. It was fermented with three specially selected Belgian yeast strains and Danielle added raisins, muscatels, cinnamon quills, ground cloves and toasted French oak.

Jayne’s G&T IPA reflects many of the flavours of the ultimate palate refresher and her favourite tipple, Gin & Tonic. Jayne added gin botanicals of juniper berries, pepperberries, angelica root and coriander seed and for the tonic, cinchona bark, allspice and grapefruit peel.

Both will be available at the Two Birds Brewery and Tasting Room as well as partner venues on Thursday 16 June (until sold out).
