Members of the alcohol industry can now book their places on the upcoming ABAC industry briefings in Melbourne and Sydney. To be held on 22 June and 24 June respectively, the briefings will provide an update on the ABAC Responsible Alcohol Marketing Code, complaints management system and pre-vetting process.

Case studies and a Q&A will also be provided, as will presentations from Chief Adjudicator of the ABAC Adjudication Panel, Professor the Hon Michael Lavarch AO and AAPS pre-vetter, Bernadette Healey in Melbourne and Ross Moyle in Sydney.

ABAC (the Alcohol Beverages Advertising Code Scheme) is the quasi-regulatory system for alcohol marketing in Australia. It provides guidelines and assessment for the safe advertising and packaging of alcohol products. The briefings will provide useful information to alcohol producers, distributors, retailers as well as advertising, publication relations and media agencies.
