Following its global bar takeover tour earlier this month, Ableforth's Bathtub Gin has officially launched in Australia.

Melbourne's Black Pearl was taken over by Music Bar from Yoyogi Village, Tokyo, as part of a world-first ‘seven global bar takeovers in seven days’ event to celebrate the cold-compounding process that creates Ableforth’s Bathtub Gin.

Founded in 2011, Ableforth’s was the brainchild of three British mates, Ben, Justin and Tom who wanted to create exceptional drinks they would enjoy themselves.

They drew inspiration from distillers of the past and timeless drinks known for robust, fresh and unusual flavours. This inspiration comes to life in the distinctive look and feel of the Ableforth’s bottle and was the starting point for creating their award winning, distinctive tasting spirits.

During a week-long operation, copper pot-stilled gin is infused with six botanicals – orange peel, cassia, juniper, coriander, cardamom and clove – to create a gin that is full of vibrant flavours only achieved through this distinct cold-compounding infusion process.

Ableforth's has gone on to win awards including Double Gold Medal (Bathtub Gin-Sloe Gin) at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2018; and Double Gold Medal (Bathtub Gin) at the Singapore World Spirits Competition 2019.

Ableforth’s can be found online and in store at Vintage Cellars and online at Nick’s Wine Merchants from $64.99.
