Ableforth’s is hosting a world-first ‘seven global bar takeovers in seven days’ event to celebrate the cold-compounding process that creates Ableforth’s Bathtub Gin.
From August 5 – 8 the Ableforth’s team will be travelling the globe to facilitate some of the drink industry’s most exciting collaborations, curating takeovers by world-class bartenders in seven of the most dynamic drinking destinations across the globe including Tel Aviv, Tokyo, Cape Town and Melbourne.
Each bar team will create a menu of cocktails that put their own twist on Ableforth’s drinks, available for one night only at their host bar. The line-up includes award winning venues such as Lyaness, Black Pearl, Little Red Door and Panda & Sons.
On August 8, Black Pearl in Melbourne will be taken over by Music Bar from Yoyogi Village, Tokyo. A famous Tokyo bar with a creative cocktail list, Black Pearl will open its doors to Mizuguchi Takuya, Bar Manager at Tokyo’s Music Bar, who will be creating a cocktail list exclusively in collaboration with Ableforth’s Bathtub Gin.
Why seven days?
For the Ableforth’s team, creating their Bathtub Gin is a seven-day infusion process. Copper pot-stilled gin is painstakingly infused with six botanicals – orange peel, cassia, juniper, coriander, cardamom and clove – to create a gin that’s full of the vibrant flavours only achieved through cold-compounding.
To commemorate the takeovers, Ableforth’s will be creating a special limited edition of Bathtub Gin for those taking part, infusing the liquid for the full duration of the seven days of the global tour.
Ableforth’s Global Brand Manager Jen Meredith said: “As the Ableforth’s brand continues to make waves across the globe, our Week Well Spent takeovers are a perfect opportunity to show Ableforth’s at its best to both trade and consumers, drawing attention to the uncompromising and painstaking seven day process behind our Bathtub gin, and have a great time doing so."
