Accolade Wines has revealed additional details on how it's helping hospitality industry venues reopen following COVID-19 shutdowns.

Accolade's "Your Venue, Our Shout" initiative has spearheaded its drive to get the on-premise back on its feet. The initiative sees Accolade Wines replace, as complimentary stock, their portfolio of wines sold across venues in the first month from re-opening.

It is accessible to both existing and new customers, and available now until August 31, 2020 across the company’s extended portfolio of wines, including brands such as Grant Burge, Croser, Stonier, Hardys, Petaluma and House of Arras.

"This support package has been really well received by the industry," said Andrew Clarke, Accolade Wines Regional Managing Director – ANZP. "In the first few weeks alone it has been taken up by over 350 venues. With some states still opening up, we expect this number to grow rapidly over coming weeks."

Terry Hall, Operations Manager at Nelson Bay Golf Club, said the assistance offered by Accolade has been invaluable.

“There is no denying the last few months have been a trying time for all of us," he said. "Although we are still in the early stages of re-opening our doors, Accolade Wines’ Your Venue, Our Shout initiative really does support us where we need it most as we kickstart our operations again. This gives us the opportunity to open with the knowledge our supply partner is supporting us and we look forward to welcoming our customers back with some fantastic wines available.”

Nabiac Hotel's Mathew Morris added: “With the Your Venue, Our Shout support package from Accolade Wines, we’re going to be able to offer our customers some great food and beverage deals, which is going to encourage them back through our venue doors and help us rebuild our dining-in business.”

Clarke (above) said Accolade's winemakers were excited to be helping the hospitality industry get back on its feet.

"There’s nothing our winemakers love seeing than their products being enjoyed and savoured in the on-premise, so they’re hugely supportive of this initiative," he explained.

"We were pleased to be able to finish vintage over recent months, and are now enjoying the reopening of our cellar doors and again welcoming the consumer into the homes of our winemaking and brands."

Accolade's additional support measures

Clarke said Accolade has been spending a lot of time working on how it can support the hospitality industry through this difficult time.

"Like most suppliers, we supported the return of products that couldn’t be sold due to closures and our credit team worked closely with customers around payment terms," he said.

"In addition, we are helping venues with wine list printing and other merchandise items that they need to get back up and running. We expect this rebuilding situation to continue for a while. We will have to wait and see how quickly the consumer heads back into on-premise venues, and the short and longer-term impact on our economy. We will have to continue to adapt and be agile in our response but it’s great to see how the whole industry is working together at this time.

"On-premise is fundamental to the liquor and wine industry and central to our communities and daily way of life. We can’t wait to see venues open and thriving again and are here to help where we can."
