Endeavour Group’s Australian Leisure and Hospitality (ALH) Hotels business prepares to re-open doors at The Brook Hotel in Mitchelton, Queensland.

The redevelopment at Mitchelton includes a newly-opened Dan Murphy’s and represents the most significant investment ALH has ever made in one of its Queensland hotels.

A significant boost to the local economy, a recruitment drive is now well underway to fill positions across management, kitchen, accommodation and front-of-house teams.

The newly renovated hotel and tavern will feature a public bar, sports bar, beer garden, bistro, outdoor dining terrace, kids play area, function room, gaming room and four-story hotel with 40 state-of-the-art rooms.

A fresh menu will focus on share plates, pub favourites, and a cocktail menu featuring curated signature creations that channel the flavours of a Queensland summer.

Paul Walton, Acting Managing Director at ALH, said the next stage of development, which includes a significant refurbishment of the old hotel, will start in mid-April.

“We are so excited to enter this finishing phase of the project, and we are pleased to be offering up to 90 employment opportunities for those looking to work at one of Brisbane’s most exceptional old hotels re-imagined.

“The Brook was ready for a refurbishment, and it has been thoughtfully designed to cater to the needs of the local community, and we hope it will become a destination to attract people from across Brisbane to this precinct.

“It will feel fresh and aesthetically quite modern - characteristics we know will resonate with our patrons.

“We’ve kept the best elements from The Brook of the past too. The fig tree that has stood proudly on the hotel footprint for around 60 years will take pride of place framing the entrance to the new venue,” said Walton.

ALH intends to re-open the venue in late May following the completion of construction at the hotel, with the accommodation open for bookings from August onwards.

The venue is currently offering reduced services and will continue to work to minimise disruption to patrons during the next phase of construction.
