Randstad Australia's annual Employer Brand Research has revealed Australia's top 10 most desirable employers, with The Australian Leisure and Hospitality Group (ALH) rising to second best this year.
One of Australia's largest recruitment and HR services firms, Randstad surveyed almost 6,000 Australians in one of the world's largest independent employer brand studies.
Lukas McKay, General Manager of Operations at ALH, said the result validates the brand's commitment to high staff retention rates, creating a workplace where employees see a future for themselves.
"The result is a testament to our team of over 12,000 who are committed to creating an environment that people want to be a part of and see a future within. I couldn't be prouder of this achievement for our people," said McKay.
With the top ranking for "having a pleasant work atmosphere and highly for financial stability and career progression", ALH is one of only a few companies in the top 10 from the private sector, including BHP and Virgin Australia, a shift from the previous years when private companies dominated the list.
One of the trends noted by Randstand is the "Big Stay", which refers to the slowing down of job hopping, with only 16 per cent of workers having moved jobs in the last six months, down 21 per cent from last year.
According to Randstand, a major factor in the Big Stay is more workers focusing on career progression, which is likely a reaction to the state of the economy, with 65 per cent of respondents saying it's important their employer offers development programs.
David Owens, Managing Director of HR Partners by Randstad, said: "In a year which has seen significant shifts in the job market, the research suggests the Great Resignation is well and truly behind us and potentially being replaced by the Big Stay, as workers look to hunker down and ride out the current economic storm."
The ALH Group is made up of a range of hospitality businesses across electronic gaming, sports bars, bistros, restaurants, cafes, accommodation, nightclubs, live sports and racing and includes brands such as Nightcap Hotels, Live at Your Local, Function Venue Finder, The Grillhouse and Feast.
