Archie Rose Distilling Co. has three new recruits to its local brand ambassador team – Daniel Hutchins-Read covering NSW / ACT, Paul Slater for VIC / TAS and Mitch Gurrin flying the flag for WA / SA.

Lead by Brand Advocacy Manager, Nick Baxter, these appointments bring the total brand ambassador team to five ahead of the distiller's international roll out later this year.

“We’re stoked to be at the stage where we need an ambassador team spanning the country,” says Archie Rose head of sales Trevor Hannam. “These guys all have such a wealth of experience in both the on and off-premise and have a genuine passion for Australian spirits – we feel very fortunate to have them.”

These new appointments are complemented by the addition of Lewis Jaffrey as Group Bars Manager and Rachelle ‘Rocky’ Hair as Creative Drinks Manager, who both joined Archie Rose in late 2019 taking the Archie Rose team to 50 plus full and part time staff, spanning five teams including Production, Operations, Hospitality and Events, Sales and Marketing.

Hutchins-Read worked in cocktail bars in Edinburgh, London and Sydney before making the move to work with spirits brands starting with 666 Tasmanian Vodka in 2012.

Since then, he’s worked with independent brands such as Berry Bros. & Rudd, The Glenrothes, No.3 London Dry Gin, Kilchoman, Diplomatico Rum, The Macallan, Adelphi and many more. In 2017 he was was awarded the Icons of Whisky Australia Scotch Whisky Brand Ambassador of the Year award. He joined Archie Rose in December 2019 and is the brand’s 'home' Ambassador based in Sydney.

Joining the Archie Rose team in January 2020 and based in Melbourne, Slater joined the Starward distillery team in 2014, helping grow the brand through his tenure. He has also represented brands such as Mr Black, 666 Vodka & Adelaide Hills Distillery. In 2018, he was awarded World Whisky Ambassador of the Year by the Australian Icons Of Whisky.

Gurrin has extensive experience in Perth's hospitality scene. He has worked at some of Perth’s most respected and highly awarded venues including Mechanics Institute and The Dominion League. He was also included in the Drinks World Top 100 bartenders (2018,19) and World Class Top 100 in 2018. His life at Archie Rose began as a casual Ambassador in 2017, before finally coming on board full time in 2019.
