As luxury spirits enjoy increasing popularity across Asia, Archie Rose wins a swathe of awards, including two Masters and five Gold at the Asia Luxury Masters 2023.
Recognised for its unmatched craftsmanship and innovative approach, Archie Rose was the only Australian distillery to take home 11 awards across various categories at the annual blind-tasting competition.
Will Edwards, Founder of Archie Rose, said he felt incredibly proud to be recognised at the awards, representing almost a decade of cumulative hard work.
"It's always incredibly exciting to receive top accolades in a global competition, but specifically for our Distiller's Strength Gin, one of our oldest products, and White Cane Rum, one of our newest, it's testament to the enduring commitment to quality our team, that products released almost a decade apart, and in two completely different categories can be deemed the world's best," he said.
The professional judging panel deemed Archie Rose's Distiller's Strength Gin Australia's Best Ultra Premium Gin. Mario Calderone, Group Beverage Manager at Hong Kong's JIA Group, said: "It has everything you want in a gin, strong juniper notes on the nose and opens up on the palate… very well made, and perfect for making a Martini."
Edwards said he was "cautiously optimistic" about success at the awards and always goes into competitions confident about the quality of Archie Rose's products.
"Picking up gold or master medals across the gin, rum, single malt whisky, and rye whisky categories is a rare occurrence and speaks to who we are as a distilling company and the breadth of expertise of our team.
"We've committed to designing one of the most innovative distilleries in the world to be able to showcase Australia's incredible ingredients, so we feel extremely proud to be acknowledged at such a prestigious event," he said.
Winning another Masters award for their White Cane Rum, Calderone said it had a "very good finish with strong banana notes, making it a delightful rum."
The international accolades come at an exciting time for Archie Rose as they announce a newly commissioned distillery a stone's throw away from their original site in Sydney's Rosebery.
"We can't wait to share what's to come from our newly commissioned Botany distillery," said Edwards. "It's such a flexible and innovative site, from the cold distilled botanicals produced under vacuum in our copper hybrid pot/column still for our gins and botanical vodkas, to the first whiskies produced using our individual malt stream method and featuring six barley and three rye malts, all 100 per cent grown and malted in Australia, there are some incredibly exciting things to come."
