A non-profit, non-union organisation with membership drawn from throughout Australia. The ABG is recognised by and affiliated with the International Bartenders Association (IBA).
As an independent body, the ABG provides bartenders with the opportunity to compete on both National & International levels in various cocktail mixing championships. They also conduct workshops and demonstrations to improve knowledge, techniques as well as discuss current trends in the drinks industry.
The ABG bring a fun and crowd-drawing competition to the show, as they host the Australian Bartenders Guild Classic & Flair National Cocktail Competition.
Sheena Hartcher, President, Australian Bartenders Guild expressed her anticipation in partnering with the Show saying, “The Australian Bartenders Guild is absolutely delighted to be supporting The Drinks Industry Show at Luna Park, Sydney.
“The industry has been waiting for a show like this to come along! We represent the Bartenders of Australia and look forward to building the profile of all our industry as a whole.”
Of the ABG Classic & Flair National Cocktail Championship, Mrs Hartcher said, “We are excited to be hosting our Australian Cocktail Competition for Mixology and Flair Bartending during the show. It will be the first of its kind in Australia. The respective winners will be flown to Tokyo, Japan to compete in the International Bartenders Association’s World Cocktail Championships 2016.”
Tryouts will take place on Monday 16 November, the first day of the show, while the finals will decide the winner on the Tuesday.
