Asia's Rosé Revolution

Rosé is a niche market in Asia, but there are signs of future growth. Chinese consumers have traditionally preferred red wine, with older drinkers in particular wary of consuming chilled drinks.

But younger consumers are becoming more eager to widen their wine horizons.

The ninth annual Rosé Revolution is currently underway in Asian cities including Hong Kong, Shanghai, Macau and Singapore.

Launched in Hong Kong by The Flying Winemaker in 2011, it has helped make rosé an increasingly popular style in the Asian wine market.

The event allows wine lovers to try the best rosés available in the Asian market.

The festival has some new additions this year such as the Rosé Masterclass, which will allow wine fanatics to learn the winemaking techniques needed to produce an excellent rosé. There will also be a Rosé Dim Sum and Dining section where customers can experience first-hand why rosé pairs well with food.

The Hong Kong event was held on August 31, while the Shanghai, Macau and Singapore Rosé Revolutions will take place on September 7, September 28 and October 12, respectively.
