Australian Venue Co (AVC) is running a major recruitment drive this month in Melbourne, Perth and Sydney as the hospitality group seeks to staff up for the busy summer period.
The campaign is heftily incentivised at a time when hourly rates for hospitality workers are on the rise with demand for workers outstripping on the ground availability.
Casual staffing platform Sidekicker says that casual rates in hospitality have risen between 15-25 per cent. and that weekly worker sign-ups have hit an all-time high in recent months. It says the traffic to its site indicates that more Australians than ever before are looking for side jobs, taking advantage of the current skills shortage to meet growing cost of living pressures.
On Sidekicker, food and beverage attendants and bartenders can earn up to $40 per hour while chefs can earn up to $50 per hour filling casual shifts.
AVC says there are jobs available at all levels of experience around Australia and recruits will be paid while they complete on the job training, including opportunities, key policies, customer service, and bar and food skills (glass ware, beer pouring, carrying three plates, the pass, etc).
Candidates are invited to drop by for a casual chat and successful applicants will be hired on the spot and can start earning money instantly by undertaking two hours of paid training on the same day.
Successful new recruits will also be welcomed to the business with a $100 pub voucher, free pub lunch after the interview to meet their new team and a gift bag and they'll be eligible to receive the group’s hiring incentive, offering new employees a $1000 Bonus Credit at AVC venues.
