Landmark Cairns North pub, Dunwoody’s Hotel, will re-open on Saturday, 14 May after a $2.5 million makeover with a new beer garden and revamped bistro, sports bar and gaming rooms.

Australian Venue Co's COO Craig Ellison said, “Dunwoody’s has proudly served the North Cairns community for 30 years we can’t wait to introduce everyone to this new chapter. We’ve invested heavily in Dunwoody's because it’s a landmark pub and our community deserves the best experience when they go out with their family and friends.”

AVC has also put out the call for workers to come and help the new venue run with a number of new jobs on offer for experienced hospitality professionals as well as for those new to the industry, with no experience required.

The renovated bistro accommodates 150 guests and features a fresh new menu by Executive Chef Dylan Kemp, which offers high quality, fresh and flavourful dishes alongside favourite pub classics.

The new beer garden features an indoor-outdoor bar and shaded dining, with two drinking & dining zones to cater for social crowds as well as family groups, with a kids play area. The beer garden and deck are shaded to ensure customers are kept comfortable and cool year-round.

Dunwoody’s Venue Manager Jason Finlayson said, “Dunwoody’s is a locals’ pub. With a complete transformation of the venue, we’re excited to meet more of our local community and to welcome back familiar faces as well. I think the beer garden is going to be a hit with local families.”

Dunwoody's is celebrating its return with a Welcome Weekend on 20-22 May.
