A unique small-batch beer with only 280 cases produced, Yenda Green Hop has been engineered strictly to be sold as a Boilermaker serve with Highland Park 12-Year-Old Single Malt in a select number of target venues from August.
Whisky expert Dan Woolley first conceived Yenda Green Hop last October, commenting:
“After an afternoon spent with the brewers in Yenda, tasting a range of whiskies like Highland Park, The Macallan, Maker’s Mark, Knob Creek Rye and Basil Hayden’s, the challenge was set to create a beer that was the perfect partner for iconic whisky brand Highland Park.”
Woolley is part of CCA’s The Exchange, a team of expert spirits brand ambassadors focused on bringing Coca-Cola Amatil’s brands to life through on premise experiences and training.
According to Woolley and the rest of the team, Highland Park was selected thanks to its flavour profile, one that could creatively be complimented by beer.
Said brewer Andy, “To complement its floral profile, we chose green hops, which simply means the hops were picked green from the vine and used immediately.
“Sourcing the green Vic Secret and Galaxy hops involved a nine-hour round trip to Hop Products Australia’s (HPA) Rostrevor Hop Farm in Bright, Victoria. After that, the hops were brewed, with some brew set aside and the remainder put into ex-whisky barrels for three months.”
Yenda Green Hop is the latest addition to the award-winning Yenda craft beer range that also includes the winter seasonal Chocolate and Vanilla Stout, as well as Yenda Pale, IPA, Golden, Red and Hell.
Yenda Green Hop will be available exclusively as a Boilermaker serve at 10-20 key venues including Surly’s (Sydney), Beer Deluxe Fed Square (Melbourne), Cobbler (Brisbane), Hains & Co (Adelaide) and Flour Factory (Perth) from early August.
