Brookie’s Byron Negroni is described as a 'fun, bright Australiana riff on the Negroni' and the pre-made little wonder is certainly a crowd favourite at the distillery. Precisely pre-batched, all that’s left to do is to pour over lots of ice, add a citrus twist and 'let our flavour wizards take you to your happy place'.
In 1919, Count Camillo Negroni was visiting his favourite watering hole in Florence, Caffe Casoni. Reportedly Count Negroni was an eccentric character from an affluent family who’d taken off to explore America where he fell in love with the Americano cocktail (Campari & Sweet Vermouth topped with Soda).
On his return to Italy, Negroni requested his usual order of an Americano, to be served with a splash of Gin, and 'hold the Soda'. One of the world’s most famous cocktails was born.
Brookie's Byron say that they have kept the roots of Count Negroni’s classic, but with an all Australian twist using Brookie’s Byron Dry Gin, Adelaide Hills Bitter Orange, and Maidenii Sweet Vermouth.
Brookie’s Byron Dry Gin is a multi-award-winning Australian interpretation of a classic London Dry Gin, distilled with 25 botanicals, 17 of which are native to our rainforest. What better way to celebrate the Australian botanical nuances of our gin in a Negroni than pairing this with Adelaide Hills Bitter Orange; an Australian expression marrying traditional bittering herbs and bursting with bright Riverland orange. Finishing the trio of Negroni needs with Maiideni Sweet Vermouth which uses key botanicals including strawberry gum, wattle seed, river mint, and grapefruit zest to provide a perfectly balanced Australian Negroni.
