RRP: 2010 Patricia Chardonnay $41.90
2009 Patricia Cabernet Sauvignon $61.60
Brown Brothers has released its 12th release of its renowned Patricia wines this week, in memory of its family matriarch and second generation family member, Patricia Brown’s birthday.
The range was named after Patricia to honour her hard work and devotion to the business, when the business was still in its early years. Patricia is recognised by the family as driving the business’ success.
This year, the winery has released two new Patricia wines – the 2010 Patricia Chardonnay and the 2009 Patricia Cabernet Sauvignon.
The 2010 Patricia Chardonnay has been sourced from the cool-climate vineyards of Whitlands and Banksdale, as well as from Coombe Farm in the Yarra Valley to give some balance to the fruit. The palate is fine and elegant with minerally characters and flavours of stone fruit. It is a lively wine with well-balanced acidity and oak, and a lingering finish.
The 2009 Patricia Cabernet Sauvignon has been sourced from the Ray and Politini vineyards in the King Valley, with fruit also from the Moonlight vineyard in Bendigo for balance. This wine is deep crimson in colour and the palate is rich and concentrated with sweet fruit and hints of nutmeg. It has good length and is well structured with ripe flavours and a seamless elegant finish.
