Bundaberg Rum has announced the launch of the next installment in its Master Distillers’ Collection (MDC) to fans this week.

To be released at the annual Spirit of Bundaberg Festival in October, the next in the series is a Black Barrel rum, distilled in 2005 and aged for the last ten years in American White Oak.

The 'MDC Black Barrel – Distilled 2005' has then been finished in small, heavy charred barrels, resulting in a sweet, smooth rum that has notes of deep caramel and sweet raisins.

“MDC Black Barrel - Distilled 2005 has been barrel matured for longer, creating a delectable rum, even smoother than its predecessors in the range”, Senior Brand Manager for Bundaberg Rum, Duncan Littler said. “Over the last few years, our Bundaberg Black range has received some of the highest praise and numerous accolades from the rum community…[and] I’m confident that the MDC Black Barrel – Distilled 2005 not only reflects the rich heritage of the range, but will redefine it.”

Available in 700ml bottles, each MDC Black Barrel - Distilled 2005 (40% ABV) carries a unique number, making it the perfect addition for any collection, and is available for a recommended retail price of $139.99.
