Bundaberg Rum has unveiled the next installment in its Master Distillers’ Collection (MDC), to be launched at the Spirit of Bundaberg Festival, 15 October 2016.

Named after the factional blending and maturation process used to create the expression, Bundaberg Rum Solera starts off in barrels used to age port, bourbon and sherry. From there, the liquid is blended in a vat that remains half-full throughout the process, allowing older liquids previously matured to live on, whilst continuously evolving and gaining complexity.

Of the newest addition, Senior Brand Manager for Bundaberg Rum, Duncan Littler, said, “The Bundaberg Distilling Company was always going to have big shoes to fill in 2016, following Bundaberg Blenders Edition 2015 winning the World’s Best Rum earlier this year. Bundaberg Rum Solera has delivered perfectly – it is as sophisticated as it is bold – and it is an exceptional addition to our Master Distillers’ Collection.”

Bundaberg Rum Solera boasts a rich and bold flavour, instilled with notes of vanilla, fruitcake and butterscotch.

Avid collectors will be excited to note that, as with previous releases, each bottle of Bundaberg Rum Solera carries a unique bottle number.

Fans can grab the first bottles, 4-1500, on the Bundaberg Rum website and at the Distilery's new Retail Experience for RRP $179.99 for a 700ml bottle, 40% ABV. Numbers 1501 and above will be available at the distillery, webstore and selected Duty Free outlets.

The Spirit of Bundaberg Festival will take place at the Bundaberg Rum Distillery from 10am-5pm, Saturday 15th October. For more information, visit the event website.
