Canadian Club is giving all Aussies an excuse to show off their ugliest sweaters in a below-the-line campaign featuring radio personalities Kyle and Jackie O.
The campaign encourages consumers to participate in a national “Ugly Sweater Day” Friday 14 August, and to tune into the KISS FM morning show for a chance to win tickets to an exclusive ugly sweater party on the night.
Also featuring an in-store component through retailer BWS, fans who spend more than $30 on participating Canadian Club products will be entered to win a limited edition retro sweater between 12 August and 25 August. 50 Canadian Club sweaters will be won each day.
"Canada, America and even the UK celebrate bad sweaters in the winter months, but in Australia by the time it rolls around to the holiday season they stay buried under the bed with the winter woollies. We didn’t want Aussies to miss out on the ugly fun so we decided to throw Australia its very own Bad Sweater Day during winter,’’ says Tiffany Madsen, Marketing Manager at Canadian Club.
“Since arriving to Aussie shores in 2001, Australians have fallen in love with Canadian Club as the refreshing alternative to beer. On Bad Sweater Day we hope our fans will also find refreshment in the wardrobe and fall in love with the oversize pom-poms and clashing colour combos. It’s all about having a bit of fun and seeing winter in a new light,’’ continues Madsen.
The Bad Sweater initiative aims to refresh the Aussie winter and encourage Australians to embrace creativity in their closet.
