Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) has announced the winners of the second round of its CCEP Awards of Excellence program, a new monthly initiative that celebrates the community-oriented achievements of local businesses nationwide.
For March, the Awards focused on Australia’s local kebab shops and included winners Dada Di Fannie Bay Kebab (NT), Troy Kebabs Domain Central (QLD), Sweet as Mudgee (NSW), and Ottoman Kebab Central West (VIC).
“CCEP is excited to celebrate the achievements of local business owners through our Awards of Excellence program,” said Felicity Needham, VP Sales, Away From Home for CCEP Australia.
“The awards are an opportunity to spotlight local community heroes, whose impact within their community goes beyond great food and excellent service.”
The CCEP Awards of Excellence focuses on venues that have helped to support their communities through a variety of community-led initiatives and activations. Criteria includes customer service, engagement with community, charity initiatives, and being sustainably oriented.
The March winners were chosen for initiatives such as Dada Di Fannie Bay Kebab’s use of funds from return and earn schemes to both financially assist and provide meals for community members in need, Troy Kebab making regular donations to Townsville Mosque, Sweet as Mudgee supporting the local junior basketball league, and Ottoman Kebab contributing to cancer research charities.
“Many of the local businesses from this month’s category play a key role in sustaining local sport and youth programs,” said Needham.
“Whether they're sponsoring the local basketball team or contributing to new sports gear with funds generated from return and earn recycling initiatives, these businesses are the behind-the-scenes champions making a real positive impact. Their support often goes beyond financial contributions, fostering social connections and camaraderie within the community and contributes to a thriving local spirit.”
Five national winners will be announced monthly as part of the awards, with one winner being chosen from each of the following groups:
- New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory
- Victoria & Tasmania
- South Australia & Northern Territory
- Western Australia
- Queensland
March, the second round of the monthly CCEP Awards of Excellence program, followed on from its launch in February this year championing Australia’s best local pizza stores.
“Small business makes up about 97.3% of all businesses in Australia, and these businesses make a significant impact on their local communities,” said Needham.
“Our Awards of Excellence program is our way of recognising and celebrating local favourites, family-run businesses, and neighbourhood gems across Australia.
“We’re so proud to be out and about, meeting the wonderful hearts and minds behind such successful businesses. Our hospitality industry in Australia is so diverse and has so much to offer.”
