Coca-Cola has announced the launch of its latest flavour - Coca-Cola Plus Coffee No Sugar.
The limited release - a “world first” exclusive to Australia - combines the traditional taste of Coke with “a dash of real coffee from Brazil” and “subtle caramel undertones”.
A version with sugar was trialled in vending machines in Japan, but Australians will be the first to experience the sugar-free version.
“Australians have a love-affair with coffee so we thought why not give them more of what they want,” Coca-Cola Australia spokeswoman Lisa Winn said.
The launch follows the release of the popular Coca-Cola Ginger.
“Coke Ginger was a huge success in Australia and it was inspired by the simple insight that Australians enjoy the taste of ginger drinks. The launch of the new Coke Plus Coffee follows a similar path to market – we know Australians love their coffee,” Winn said.
The drink contains “less caffeine than the same amount of a regular latte or flat white but a little more than classic Coca-Cola”.
“We think it will be a great tasting afternoon pick me up - like a delicious antidote to the 3pm slump,” Winn said.
