Coca-Cola Amatil has become the first Principal Partner of the new Sydney Zoo as the zoo’s official non-alcoholic beverage supplier from 2019-2024.

The Zoo, located in Western Sydney Parklands near Blacktown, had its Grand Opening on December 7, 2019 and is home to more than 90 Australian and exotic animal species with more than 2000 animals.

Coca-Cola Amatil Managing Director Australia Peter West congratulated the Zoo on the opening and welcomed the opportunity to keep visitors hydrated over the summer.

“We look forward to delighting visitors to Sydney Zoo with an iconic range beverage brands including Coca-Cola, Sprite, Fanta and Mount Franklin,” West said.

“In line with Sydney Zoo’s commitment to sustainability, all of Coca-Cola Amatil’s plastic bottles 600ml and less at Sydney Zoo will be made from 100% recycled materials. We also encourage visitors to recycle their bottles at the recycling stations in the zoo.”

Amatil’s partnership with Sydney Zoo follows other business wins in Australia, including Pizza Hut, Hungry Jack’s, Red Rooster, Oporto and Hilton Hotels.

West said as well as supplying beverages, Coca-Cola Amatil would be the official sponsor of the Zoo’s meerkat habitat, which is home to 15 meerkats that form part of the zoo’s breeding program. Amatil would also promote a staff volunteering program to help out at the Zoo.

Sydney Zoo Managing Director Jake Burgess said it was set to become one of the premier attractions in Sydney.

“We are therefore delighted, and proud, to be partnering with such an iconic brand as Coca-Cola Amatil, who will be our first Principal Partner,” Mr Burgess said.

“Their investment will not only help support the welfare of our meerkats, but by donating their own time, their annual staff volunteer day will make a huge difference in what we are trying to achieve.”
