Dan Murphy's has announced an exclusive partnership with DoorDash, an on-demand delivery service provider. Currently, Dan Murphy’s delivery is only facilitated via its in-house service, with its Delivery Now sub-two hour delivery option limited to select metro areas.
Today's news comes less than two months after Coles Liquor entered into a similar partnership with Menulog, a direct competitor of DoorDash. All Coles Liquor banners, along with BWS, are also featured on the DoorDash platform.
“By partnering with DoorDash, our extensive range of great products is now accessible for all of your occasion needs,” said Agi Pfeiffer-Smith, Managing Director at Dan Murphy’s.
“We’re excited to bring the Dan’s experience to your doorstep, just in time for your summer celebrations.”
Dan Murphy’s partnership with DoorDash includes 200 stores and will make a broad range of wines, beers and spirits available to local communities ahead of the summer festive season. To honour Dan Murphy's Lowest Liquor Price Guarantee, the company will ensure that all Dan Murphy’s products are priced cheaper than competitors on the DoorDash platform.
“Our partnership with Dan Murphy’s is a game-changer for our customers, especially as we gear up for the holiday season,” said Puji Fernando, General Manager of DoorDash Australia.
“Together, we’re offering our customers unrivalled convenience and great prices. Whether you’re planning a gathering or searching for the perfect bottle of wine for gift-giving, Dan Murphy’s on DoorDash makes it easy to have everything delivered straight to your door.”
To help kickstart the launch, DoorDash is offering consumers 20% off their first two orders from Dan Murphy’s up until 21 December.
Coles Liquor and Menulog offered a similar discount upon launching in September. At the time, Coles Liquor’s General Manager of Customer Loyalty Mia Lloyd said the partnership with Menulog would greatly increase delivery access to regional areas such as Orange, Mildura, Wangaratta, NSW Central Coast and the Mornington Peninsula.
“Being available on Menulog means we can connect customers in regional areas such as Moe and Wangaratta in Victoria, Moonee Beach in NSW and Slade Point in Queensland with liquor delivery from Menulog for the first time,” she said.
“With 650 Liquorland, First Choice Liquor Market and Vintage Cellars stores now live, Menulog will bring the drinks for any occasion.”
Dan Murphy’s and DoorDash have not confirmed which 200 stores have been incorporated in the partnership.
