Dan Murphy’s has sold a $65,000 bottle of Penfolds Grange from 1951.

The costly and rare bottle was sold from the Dan Murphy’s Cellar Release Range to a fine wine collector.

The Dan Murphy’s Cellar Release Range is home to over 3 million bottles of wine that are kept and protected in climate-controlled cellars for perfect ageing conditions, set up my Mr. Murphy himself, believing that “all great wines need age”.

When Dan Murphy’s Business Manager Lance Eerhard was put in touch with the fine wine customer, he introduced him to the Cellar’s range of Grange. The anonymous customer selected the 1951 vintage, found to be signed by pioneering Australian winemaker, Max Schubert.
