A lucky twelve will be selected for the finals, where each will work with an up and coming Australian photographer, selected by art talent agency Art Pharmacy Consulting, to capture the personality conveyed by the team and its cocktail. The photographs and cocktails will then sit side-by-side at exhibitions nationally where consumers and media alike will be invited to taste the differently distilled concoctions.
One team will officially be named the Auchentoshan Distilled Different Bar Team of the Year and along with their partnering photographer, win a trip to Glasgow to discover more about the home of the Scotch whisky.
“We’re excited to launch such an innovative and involved campaign against the backdrop of Auchentoshan American Oak culture," Beam Suntory's Brand Manager Chiara Molena said.
"There are many unique ways to enjoy whisky and we’re looking forward to seeing the “Distilled Different” personalities of the bar teams, as well as their skilled craftsmanship, come to light through the entries. Our partnership with some of Australia’s most exciting up and coming photographers will really bring Auchentoshan to life by capturing the essence of what being ‘Distilled Different’ means to bar teams across Australia."
Interested bar teams can apply online at www.the-blend.com.au. Entries close on June 30 and the winner will be announced on September 16, with exhibitions taking place between August and September.
For the wider on- and off-premise trade, Auchentoshan American Oak is now available across the country, retailing for $59.90. Auchentoshan is one of the smoothest whiskies, matured in American bourbon casks for additional sweet vanilla and coconut layers; hence the name it's given. It has been made in Glasgow since 1823 and is the only whisky in Scotland that is entirely triple distilled.
