The Wine: Domaine Chandon Chardonnay 2014

RRP: $32

Distributed by: On-premise wine only or available from Domaine Chandon Cellar Door and online at http://moet-hennessy-collection.com.au

Our view: The 2014 was a low cropping year for many in the Yarra, but the quality is evident in this pale straw coloured chardonnay with a delicate stone fruit character, complemented by fine acidity and length.

The Wine: Domaine Chandon Shiraz 2013

RRP: $32

Distributed by: On-premise wine only or available from Domaine Chandon Cellar Door and online at http://moet-hennessy-collection.com.au

Our view: The 2013 is a medium bodied shiraz that the winemaker recommends go with roast lamb and rosemary potatoes; smoked beef, beetroot and goats cheese antipasto. And while that may not be present while tasting this beautiful Yarra Valley shiraz, I can see what he means. Under Dan Buckle’s leadership the team at Domaine have produced a deep purple, juicy berry fruit and floral shiraz that has balanced tannins and oak integration. Now for lunch.
